TYPE: Panama. Prov. of Chiriquí: epiphytic in cloud forest around the Fortuna dam site, alt. ca. 1000 m, collected Aug. 1976, flowered in cultivation 13 Nov. 1976, R.L. Dressler s.n. (holotype, SEL; illustration of type).
